Alter G in New York

Alter G

If you are in New York for the ING New York Marathon you should also check out the Alter G anti-gravity presentation.

I first found the Alter G treadmill few months ago and my first impression was “what is this thing?!?!”. But soon I realized the genius of this machine. It allows us to run but with lower body weight. This is probably the best possible form of cross training for running. You can read my article at TriCape.com about it here.

Now Alter G asked me to announce their showroom in New York City which will be open until 15th November. Also check out Amol Saxena presentation on 3rd November. For more information go here.

Can this product help Ironman training? Probably less than it can help runners because cycling is already very good cross training but anything extra can always help. For the elite those extra few percent can be very useful, especially when there is a risk of injury. But most help can be seen in beginners who have issues with weight. Lowering the pressure on their bones during those first runs until they get stronger can be super useful.
