Ironman World Championship 2007 Chrissi Welington Chris McCormack

Chrissi Welington (team TBB) and Chris McCormack are Ironman World Champions!

In a race full of surprises one thing was definitely not a surprise: Chris McCormack has finally realized his dream and added Ironman World Championship title to his collection.

I could say that Chrissi Welington is a surprise but only because she was not featured in media so much. She is part of a very successful Team TBB which also features Bella Camerford and few other to girls. So I guess they are doing something right in TBB.

I am also happy that a friend of mine, Milos Kostic, has defended his Ironman World Championship title for M65 category. I know he had some serious injuries after a bike crash during training and it seams this did not disturb him.

My coach, Bojan Maric, had a bad race but he was quite sick. I know he could have gone a hour faster but I know he did his best to finish in style in spite of the issues. He know he will not do a good time but he wanted to give it his best anyway. It was his first time in Hawaii.

Other friends that took part in the race are Sandra Boer from Cape Town (12:50:25), Igor Nastic from Switzerland (9:36:00) and Pascal Ferrat from Switzerland (10:14:32) as well.

I will write more about the race during the next few days.

I wish to congratulate everyone who took part in this hard race. It was obviously a hard day but you guys did it! You have done Ironman Hawaii! Bravo!
