Jonathon Blais, ‘The Warrior Poet’, who made the log-roll finish famous and brought attention to the plight of those suffering with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) or Lou Gehrig’s finally succumbed to the disease on Sunday evening.

For those who have seen the official 2005 Ironman World Champs DVD, you will be familiar with his story but what I remember is the poem used in the closing scenes. While it may not be the work of Byron, Shelley or Keats it is certainly inspiring.

While his website is not a work of art, it is full of passion and information. Give it a visit and read his diary, the world would be a better place if there were more like him.
