Toni Hasler Training Camp

From the 2nd – 16th February a Toni Hasler Training camp take place in Gran Canaria, more exactly in Maspalomas. It was the first Time that I worked close with Toni and since a long time I haven’t trained in a group. So I was quite excited.

The first 10 days were very hard. On the one hand the weather turned in rain for four days. (Yes, in Gran Canaria can it rain!) On the other hand I didn’t expected that we train so hard, in the first week we spend more than 22 hours on the bicycle, with routes in which we made more than “3000 elevator meter”.

For me quite taff, and I had to fight a lot. With lots of power we climbed up the mountains of Fataga. Finally a lot of Basis training.

Toni is quite strong, the master himself, fulfil almost the whole cycle program and pushed us further. To summarize I realized the huge of potential that I still have in the cycling. There is a lot to do, but I am ready to go on. As this week was so hard for me, I worked in the mental part as well. I get confident if you really think you can’t get up the mountain, there is even more power in you. I discovered new boundaries, I realised, what is possible if you are really focused and train hard.

We didn’t spend the whole time on the bike, we run and swim as well. Especially the swimming in the Atlantic Ocean under the advice of Natascha Badmann (6 times winner in Kona) was priceless.
